I Can't Wait 03:30
I Can’t Wait. This year’s been the toughest test on my soul, on my faith. Seems like every force against me has got the winning case. Though I try, I try so hard it always brings me down. I keep pulling forward, gotta keep my blinders on. I can’t wait to see you baby! I can’t wait to see you honey! I can’t wait to see you! I can’t wait to see you darling! When it comes to feeling good, I’ve always done so bad, and my stats at feeling happy add up sad. When it comes to giving love I’ll give you all I can, but if I don’t succeed, believe it wasn’t planned. I can’t wait to see you baby! I can’t wait to see you honey! I can’t wait to see you! I can’t wait to see you darling! Breakdown, in the middle of a lifestyle. Best thing, and you happened at the right time. Breakdown, in the middle of a lifestyle. Best thing, and you happened at the right time. I can’t wait… I can’t wait… I can’t wait to see you baby…. I can’t wait to see you ….. I can’t wait to see you baby! I can’t wait to see you honey! I can’t wait to see you! I can’t wait to see you darling!

Geometry 03:18
Geometry Straight lines don’t reconnect. Triangles are a tight fit. We tried to square it up, But the parallels messed us up. We loved you with all of our hearts. We loved you from the start. Someday, we’ll swim across the pond, Perhaps then, we’ll go on... but until then.... Who knows? We tried to form the pentagon. But the politics were much too fierce. We stopped at a hexagon stop sign, and we’ve been going ever since. We loved you with all of our hearts. We loved you from the start. Someday, we’ll swim across the pond, Perhaps then, we’ll go on... but until then.... We go on and on and on. On and on and on. We go on and on and on. On and on and on. We go on and on and on. On and on and on. We go on and on and on. On and on and on.

Complex Inferiority She`s got him, I got me. Whats a boy supposed to do. Sit here and pity myself, while I wait for the pits of hell. Oh no, don’t you start that, oh no, no, no, no, no, no. One day I hope to meet the, The man who wipes her tears, One day I hope to be welcome, And have him quell my fears. Oh no, don’t you start that, oh no, no, no, no, no, no. 2, 4, 6, 8 who’s the one who’s gonna be saved? 2, 4, 6, 8 who’s the one who’s gonna be saved?

Square Eyes 05:10
Square Eyes I Love You. My Little Square Eyes Take me down, take me all the way down. You got me, wrapped around your little finger. Don’t let go, don’t you ever let me go. Sweet little square eyes See much clearer Don’t cut corners Anchored wisdom Blue brown black green Oh the smallest hearts ring true. Oh they always seem to do. Square eyes, keep planted on me forever!

Gyprock V Plastor Picture Frames Fall from my Walls They have always seen behind our lies Reject stepford coca Technicolor life. Good from from far but far from good. If these walls could speak What lies would they leak What truth would they seek What truth would they seek Nothing grips to the gypsum as it rips them and it flips them Just beneath the paint is powdered stone Plaster, Paint and Pictures Can’t Seal Lips Good from far but far from good. What lies would they leak What truth would they seek What truth would they seek

The Morning Comes I never thought, this would tear us apart. I never knew, that I was such a fool, But, the morning comes… the morning soon will come. I hate to think of what this really means, I hate to wonder, if you shouldn’t be with me But, the morning comes… the morning soon will come. Ok, Lets try another day. I want you! But, the morning comes… the morning soon will come. But, the morning comes… the morning soon will come. But, the morning comes… the morning soon will come.

The Saddest Song I’ll write the last song of summer, while you twirl my hair. Tomorrow’s September, the leaves will turn amber, in the cold, cold air. But you should know, Like all things, this summer must go. You should know, Like all things, this summer must go. The winter will bring home your sister, and like you she’s heaven sent. And you’ll sleep alone child, like a big girl, this moment has come too soon. But you should know, Like all things, this summer must go. You should know, Like all things, this summer must go. But you should know, Like all things, this summer must go. You should know, Like all things, this summer must go. And I should know, cause I’ve seen the Autumn before.

Physical Education My Sweet one, when the sun shines bright you rot my teeth. But when the clouds crowd round, you could drink my liver till my liver turns green. And when the rooster crows, my vision blurs it blurs and tricks my mind. To thinking night wont come. So that when the night does come, I’m so surprised. You, Are, Always, on my mind! You, Are, Always, on my mind! My Knee caps flattened from the beggin to stand tall. My Cracked hands, are cracked from ringing out my salted tears. My split ends from pulling out the hair I wear too long. And my strong heart, never fully breaks just creaks and moans. You, Are, Always, on my mind! You, Are, Always, on my mind!

Crowscare 03:20
Crowscare I hate what you’ve done with the place. It’s full of mirrors. And every time I see my face. All I see is fear. Please come and save my soul, I am on my own. My eyes are being picked out by crows. And fed to their young ones I know. Nothing does me any good, beyond my cigs and my wine. A Man could grow sickly this way, from chocalates and fine dines. Please come and save my soul, I am on my own. My eyes are being picked out by crows. And fed to their young ones I know. I hate what you’ve done What have you done? I hate what you’ve done, What have you done?

History 02:55
History Warplanes fly where pirates soar, And Snowy and Jonny and Sleeping Panda Snore. Weathered Dresser shine your Star, On Gamecube and Lego and Plado, and A million Toy Cars. So Here’s your Audio Memory. In case you remember things like me. Cause what you see, what you see Can be so easily forgotten. The Blue invades upon the green, Except where London picks while he’s asleep. A Casio Keyboard paves his way, With Beethoven, Mozart, and Lennon, He’ll Practice every day. So Here’s your Audio Memory. In case you remember things like me. Cause what you see, what you see Can be so easily forgotten.

Arithmetic 05:23
Arithmetic One. You were the one. The one who was to be my only one. And Two. We were the two. The two who were always, supposed to be true. But loving you is bloody killing me, Cause we don’t compromise, And loving me is bloody killing you, Cause we don’t ever see eye to eye! Three, we’ve always had three, three problems theyre trust, patience kindness, and we need all three. And four. We gotta do it for, for you, for me, for them, forever! But loving you is bloody killing me, Cause we don’t compromise, And loving me is bloody killing you, Cause we don’t ever see eye to eye!

about

Raw, rough, uncomfortably honest, fast and violent, then suddenly smooth and soaring. SAvK wears his heart on his sleeve, then throws it, still beating, at the audience. This Canadian act uses deep rooted flavours and combines it with international inspirations to perfectly depict his home sound. SAVK’s debut self titled release is a study in vulnerable live folk rock. Now joined by an amazing team of musicians including Paul van Kampen (The Magnetic North, Beija Flor), Brett Gunther (Beija Flor, Buzzing Bees), Stefan Smith (Crescent Heights, Coldwater) and Matt Chaplin (Prairie of Prax, Joule). SAVK is now recording a louder more produced record to be released in 2013.

Praise:
"... A showcase of formidable musical talent... Will make an indelible mark on the nation's music scene."
-Spencer Brown BEATROUTE

"... His guitar weaves effortlessly around the beautifully constructed vocal melodies... van Kampen remains crisp and clear in the foreground. It’s a position he’d better get used to."
-Peter Hemminger, FFWD

"...van Kampen's distinct, raspy yet-soothing voice on the record strikes the same chord in my heart as Beija Flor did. However, SAVK Captures a much more intimate side of van Kampen, while still possessing the same precisely mastered songwriting."
-Sara Mohan BEATROUTE

"Armed with a small arsenal of acoustic instruments on stage as cover, SAVK offers a chance to explore his musical vision, sharing it with an audience that understands raw, honest emotion. Firmly rooted in folk, his simple melodies emphasize his old soul."
-SB, SLED ISLAND

Savk immediately pulls you in with the smoothness of his old-rock‘n’roll-infused style and the genius pace of his guitar strumming fingers. The talents of this man are generous, particularly when seen in a live setting, and his musical creations are an essential contribution to Calgary’s indie-folk-rock scene.
